Research Commissioned by the Indiana Coalition to Reduce Underage Drinking

January 1998 – “An Examination of Underage Drinking in the State of Indiana.”
This telephone survey was given to minors 18-20 years of age and assessed use of and attitudes towards alcoholic beverages. This research was conducted by the Indiana University Public Opinion Laboratory.

April 1999 – “Survey of Alcoholic Beverage Establishments in Indiana.”
This telephone survey was given to owners and managers of various retail establishments (bars, liquor stores, grocery stores, and drug stores) throughout Indiana and assessed the attitudes of owners and managers towards public policy initiatives to reduce underage drinking. November 2000 – “Alcohol Policies in the United States: Highlights from the 50 States.”

December 2002 – “Youth Access to Alcohol Survey.”
This national telephone survey, a follow up to the 1997 survey commissioned by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and conducted by the University of MN Alcohol Epidemiology Department, assessed the knowledge of, attitudes towards, and levels of public support for a variety of public policies to reduce underage drinking.
